Halo

Hmm, I have a blog. I forgot. So whats new with me?

I have one more day of work for this year: Dec 31. Yay for vacations and holidays.

Today was my department Christmas party. We rent out the Outback for lunch. It was fun. Afterwards Cyndi and I went to see I am Legend. Intense. Not a happy movie. Its a disaster flick. Will Smith was amazing. Award worthy even.

Last weekend was we had 3 partys. Friday night was the church praise team. That was cool. More like Cyndi's crowd than mine. But I'm starting to get to know folks so I don't end up on the outside looking in. The kids were good, so I didn't have to be babysitter all night.
Saturday morning we had to drive to Lemore for Cyndi's grandma's b'day. Most of her family we haven't seen in years. One cousin she hadn't seen in 25 years. It was great for her to reconnect with her family.
Saturday night we had to rush back into town to take pictures for my mom's Chirstmas cards and get ready for the Aera Christmas party. Aera had it's 10th anniversary this year and our CEO is retireing at the end of the year. The Christmas party is normally where the company splurges a bit. So this year was awesome. The company hired Big Bad Voodoo Daddy to play. There was no where in town that would work for the party so we had it at our main office. They tented in the entry to the lobby and breezeways outside. There were heaters to keep out the cold. There was food everywhere. Coffee bar. It was great. The company gave swing danceing lessons all year. There were plenty of people dancing. It was a blast.
Cyndi had been stressing all the party's and dreaded haveing to find clothes and make arrangements. By the time Friday rolled around she was done. She didn't want to do anything. But she had so much fun. She was glad I pushed her not to ditch out on anything. She even wants to do swing dance lessons.

We might even do it.

Here it comes

The end of the year is always busy, but this year will take the cake. Sam's birthday is coming up. Cyndi is getting ready to go to Spain. We're going to take Sam to Legoland since Cyndi is leaving the country right after his birthday. I'm taking 2 weeks off work to stay with the boys.

Afterwards, we have other family birthdays (like mine), and the holidays.

Burdens

A man carrying a large camping pack loaded with gear came to the cross to pray for the Lord to help him with his burden. Jesus stepped forward saying, "I am here for you. Give me your burden."
The man untied his sleeping bag and gave it to Jesus. Jesus said, "I will give you shelter."
The man freed his lunch box and thermos. As Jesus took them he said, "I will sustain you."
The man untethered his coat and handed it to the Lord. Jesus said, "I will give you warmth."
The man pulled his wallet out of a pocket, and as he handed it over, Jesus said, "I will provide your needs."

Then the man stooped, picked up his bag, and clutched it close as he turned to leave.
Jesus called out, "Wait, your bag is not empty. What burdens won't you give me?"

God didn't send his Son to take care of our basic needs. Yes, God will take care of his children, but Jesus came for a greater purpose. What burdens do you have that you refuse to give up? Keeping it could be separating you from God. You don't have secrets from God. Admit that you are human. Humble yourself and allow the Lord to ease your burden. Let it go. Free yourself.

Random Thoughts

  • Never burn your bridges at both ends. - Mixed metaphor by Clayton Montgomery

I got to read letters to home from Aaron Mitchell. That kid makes me so proud.

Chris Champion (another kid that makes me proud) is almost done with chemo. [happy dance]

Gotta go rescue my wife from my cat's new pet crickett.... night-night.

Whats new

If you're reading this then you might have wondered "what happened to Clayton?" I stopped going to Dive, deleted my MySpace, and ditched on the Life youth conference.

I've been going through some stuff and needed to focus on working through it. After talking to Pastor Danny, we decided it's best if I focused on taking care of myself and family. I deleted my MySpace to avoid distractions and questions. Missing Life was the hardest. I REALLY wanted to go.

The time of prayer and fasting was a healthy experience. I really felt the hand of God healing me.

Things are going to work out, but I could really use your prayer. And I'd appriciate if you'd respect my privacy.

God Bless,
Clayton

New Blog

So everyone's doing it...I made the switch to Blogspot so I can keep up with everyone else's Blogs.... and maybe keep up my own.

So what's new with me? I just got back from 4 days in Vegas for a game manufacturer's convention (GAMA). My best friend owns a game shop, so I went with him to the show. It was really fun.

The next adventure is sending Cyndi to Spain on a mission trip.
